NBC NEWS

Once again, another US Soldier was killed in action in Afghanistan this Monday. This is already the 17th American to be killed in combat during this year. While the identity of the service member is soon to be reported (after it is informed to the family) many questions surround the White House: Are Iran and the Taliban taking advantage of Trump’s hesitation? How much can these conflicts escalate?

ESCALATION WITH THE TALIBAN

United States President, Donald Trump, decided to cancel secret talks with the Taliban in a round of negotiations that would bring peace to a country that is need of a lot of help. What happened? Requested by a top advisor and former ambassador to Afghanistan, Trump was ready to invite Afghanistan’s President and the Taliban negotiators to … Camp David (Donald Trump Cancels Meeting With The Taliban And Sparks More Tension).

This happened after Mike Pompeo and John Bolton apparently got into a conflict while advising the US President. Why? Bolton wanted to be more aggressive with Iran and the Taliban, explaining the President that … these groups cannot be trusted. Pompeo wanted to have a more “diplomatic” approach. Trump leaned towards Pompeo and Bolton left the White House.

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

Right after that, Iran attacked Main Oil Facilities in Saudi Arabia (using the Houthi group as a platform) and the Taliban killed another US Soldier in Afghanistan. Sources close to this platform in Washington confess that the President might have made a mistake by letting Bolton leave: Now his message looks confusing (“I want to meet with Rouhani, no pre concessions needed) and the Taliban feel more comfortable expanding their “business” as they can “justify” their actions with Trump’s lack of commitment and the confession of the US President regarding the death of their main leader: Hamza Bin Laden (heir of Osama’s rule) was killed by American troops.

Trump believes that the Taliban and Iran cannot challenge the US but as tension increases, American troops are under much more pressure than before? Will this escalate further?
